The Portare collection is inspired by new beginnings, new journeys and the notion of transporting, carrying and developing. My personal motivation behind the project was centred around my journey into motherhood and carrying our beautiful son, however the pieces may resonate differently with each viewer. Perhaps the collection resembles a new journey in your life, a career change, a marriage, a new home or a new found friend. The pieces are circular to represent a continuous journey of growth, never ending. There are only 8 pieces within the collection, a number which signifies infinity. Each piece is created using acrylic paint on a primed wooden board, sealed with a flexible varnish and finished with an aluminium, individually coated tray frame. Within each piece there is a quote, printed and built into the layers. The quote within this piece reads ‘Nature, Magic and Adventure.’

Adventure consists of layered abstract marks, with muted tones of taupe, grey, white and stone. The brush strokes create a base for the floral detail to ascend through the piece. The raw marks within the artwork are playful and full of adventure, hence the title. The piece is finished with a textured concrete grey frame and fixings are supplied for display. The Portare collection is delivered by a specialist courier, complete with a  certificate of authenticity.
