The Portare collection is inspired by new beginnings, new journeys and the notion of transporting, carrying and developing. My personal motivation behind the project was centred around my journey into motherhood and carrying our beautiful son, however the pieces may resonate differently with each viewer. Perhaps the collection resembles a new journey in your life, a career change, a marriage, a new home or a new found friend. The pieces are circular to represent a continuous journey of growth, never ending. There are only 8 pieces within the collection, a number which signifies infinity. Each piece is created using acrylic paint on a primed wooden board, sealed with a flexible varnish and finished with an aluminium, individually coated tray frame. Within each piece there is a quote, printed and built into the layers. The quote within this piece reads ‘These marks are the poems we scribbled together.’

Poem consists of layered marks, built into an abstract pattern. Rich tones of brass, grey, taupe and white build to create a notion of movement in this heavily textured piece. The metallics within the piece capture the light beautifully adding depth and contrast. The piece is finished with a pale brass finish frame and fixings are supplied for display. The Portare collection is delivered by a specialist courier, complete with a  certificate of authenticity.
