The Portare collection is inspired by new beginnings, new journeys and the notion of transporting, carrying and developing. My personal motivation behind the project was centred around my journey into motherhood and carrying our beautiful son, however the pieces may resonate differently with each viewer. Perhaps the collection resembles a new journey in your life, a career change, a marriage, a new home or a new found friend. The pieces are circular to represent a continuous journey of growth, never ending. There are only 8 pieces within the collection, a number which signifies infinity. Each piece is created using acrylic paint on a primed wooden board, sealed with a flexible varnish and finished with an aluminium, individually coated tray frame. Within each piece there is a quote, printed and built into the layers. The quote within this piece reads ‘From seed, a plant of my very own.’
Seed consists of layered marks, built into an abstract floral pattern. Rich tones of brass and mocha create a base for the piece, while stone, taupe, pale sage and white add detail. The piece is finished with a white stone finish frame and fixings are supplied for display. The Portare collection is delivered by a specialist courier, complete with a certificate of authenticity.

We deliver worldwide. UK shipping is free of charge and takes approximately 3-4 weeks from payment to delivery, this may be quicker if we have the piece in stock, especially with original pieces which are ready to leave the studio, or this may take slightly longer for the larger sized prints and is dependent on the current situation with delays in certain areas. We do ship artwork all over the world, although please speak with us at info@tonithorntonart.com before ordering from outside of the UK, as there may be additional/customs charges which we need to calculate for you. Once your order is placed, you will be notified along the way and also receive tracking information to know when to expect your delivery.
